A slide in a hotel

The architectural office arQ, for interior design, was renovating hotel Upstairs. And for the extra special feature in the hotel, a stainless steel slide, they approached IJslander.

Hotel Upstairs is located in the bustling center of Ostende (Belgium) and a nearby the beautiful, extensive beaches. IJslander was involved at an early stage. An indoor slide has to meet a number of requirements and very important: fit through the door. There was also a rush, the hotel wanted to open quickly. This was no problem for IJslander and with the quick picking, measuring and signing, the slide was even made and placed in the yellow house color of the hotel.

The spiral slide has been useable since the first of June 2018, the day that Upstairs opened its doors. Just like the hotel and her cozy spaces, the slide can be used 24/7. Who will test the slide?
